Gateway Access to Powdered and Tabletted Grinding and Briquetting Additives

Solid grinding and briquetting additives are supplied in powdered and easy-to-dispense tabletted forms. They are formulated from compounds consisting of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen and should have no significant influence on analytical data.

The formulations are based on imparting a balance of lubricity and abrasiveness to the comminution process. This is necessary to induce mobility to some sample particles with tendencies to adhere to each other and supply an abrasive media to promote comminution.

During the briquetting operation, processed samples are formed into self-supporting pellets that are characteristically glass-smooth and “plasticized” into poker chip appearances. They are firm, durable and resistant to breakage during handling, analysis and storage for future referral.

Gateway to Access to Liquid-Binder™ Briquetting Additive

Liquid-Binder is an alternative to processing powdered sample materials deficient in briquette forming constituents and dilution may potentially affect analytical results.

Liquid-Binder is formulated with a polymeric binder dissolved in di-chloromethane. By forming a slurry mixture of the sample with Liquid-Binder, each sample particle is coated with the polymer. Upon evaporation of the solvent, the sample particles tenaciously adhere to each other. After de-agglomeration and briquette formation the powdered sample is transformed into an extremely hard sample pellet.
