Grinding/Briquetting Additives

Grinding/Briquetting Additives

Many types of sample substances are not conducive to uniform particle size reduction, configuration and distribution or may be deficient in briquette forming properties that prohibit producing a representative sample for direct x-ray spectrochemical analysis with reliable degrees of accuracy.

The availability and applications of different types of comminution and blending equipment also are influential to the effectiveness of the sample preparation procedure and require joint consideration with the use of additives. It is apparent with these many combination of variables that no single additive will effectively serve as a universal solution. It is for this reason that a variety of different Grinding/Briquetting Additives have been researched, developed and made available in attempting to satisfy most of the difficulties generally experienced.

Grinding/Briquetting Additives

Grinding and Briquetting Additives

Use Chemplex Grinding/Briquetting Additives to facilitate the grinding process and with samples substances tending to resist briquette formation. Formulated to provide a balance of lubricity and abrasiveness to ensure homogeneous particle size reduction and distribution. During briquetting, the powdered sample is transformed into an unblemished “plasticized” surface for statistically reproducible analytical data and retention for future referral. Available in powdered form and in pre-weighed tablets for ease of dispensing.

Liquid Binder

Liquid-Binder™ Aqueous Grinding/Briquetting Additive

Many types of sample substances are deficient in briquette forming constituents and dilution with a traditional additive presents a problem. Simply convert the powdered sample substance into a slurry with Liquid-Binder to ensure thorough coating of each sample particle with the active polymeric ingredient. Evaporate the liquid carrier, de-agglomerate and briquette in usual manner. The sample pellet is firm, extremely hard and resistant to breakage.
