Evacuable Briquetting Dies

Stainless Steel Dies for Spectropress® Laboratory Presses

Stainless steel die sets offer the option of evacuation in briquetting powdered samples for XRF sample analysis. The sidearm permits attachment of a vacuum hose.

The dies are fabricated from stainless steel and precision ground to close tolerances to ensure precision fit of the stainless pellets supplied with the die or optionally available tungsten carbide pellets. Additionally, close tolerance manufacturing ensures that tapered compressible aluminum PelletCupsTM precisely fit into the bore of the die with just enough room for the pellets containing a powered sample substance to gently fall to the bottom on a cushion of air. This reduces the likelihood of sample particles becoming entrapped in between the steel pellets and inside bore diameter and minimizes the potential threat of die scoring.

Usable with Automatic Standard 30 Ton and Manual 12 Ton SpectroPresses, in addition to other laboratory presses. Consists of: base, main cylindrical body, two optically polished stainless steel pellets, plunger, collection up and “O” rings. Maximum force indicated on each die set.

Note: For best results and close tolerances, use with Chemplex Compressible aluminum and plastic PelletCupsTM

Pelletaid® Sample Pellet Release Agent and Stainless Steel Die Conditioner

A simple "dusting" application to the metal pellet included with a die set prevents the sample from sticking. Consisting of a lubricious organic substance, PelletAid does not introduce unwanted analyte-lines. When sparingly applied to the inside walls of a die set, movement of the pellets and plunger is greatly facilitated. PelletAid has an unusual affinity to adhere to metal components and serves as a dry focused lubricant. Contains: 70.6% C, 11.5% H, 10.4% O and 7.5% Na.
