EVACUABLE STAINLESS STEEL BRIQUETTING DIE SETS

Chemplex die sets are fabricated from a quality grade of stainless steel. They are annealed to a Rockwell “C” hardness of at least 45 to minimize abrasion and potential damage attributed to the effects of contact to very hard sample particles that normally would score the inside diameters of the bodies. Close tolerance precision grinding ensures perfect compatibility with:

  • Stainless pellets supplied with the die sets and the optionally available tungsten carbide pellets
  • Compressible tapered PelletCups® and PlastiCups for briquetting
  • Chemplex Manual and Automatic Standard SpectroPress® Systems featured with self-centering and aligning die set containment features.

Each die is fitted with a fluted side-arm for a firm connection to an evacuation source during the briquetting process to remove extraneous air entrapment. Appropriate “O” rings are included to ensure sealing during the evacuation procedure.

A similarly designed 13 mm diameter evacuable die set is available for briquetting powdered samples for x-ray analysis for IR analysis.
