Navigation from the Direction Center will provide access to the Gateways to products related to briquetting powdered samples. Simply click on the item of interest in the border.

Gateway to Access 12 Ton Manual SpectroPress® System

The compact Manual SpectroPress® delivers up to 12 tons of force. Unique two stanchion design provides complete all-around accessibility and visibility. Platen is designed with a series of counter-bores that safely retain optionally available Chemplex 13, 32, 35 and 40 mm evacuable die sets. Analog gauge indicates applied force from 0 to 12 tons in 0.4 ton increments. Rapid pressure release instantly retracts ram in preparation for the next briquetting operation. Long handle facilitates pumping; Includes installation holes for safety stability.

Manual 12 Ton Force SPECTROPRESS®

Gateway to Access 30 Ton Automatic Standard SpectroPress® System

The Automatic Standard SpectroPress is designed to accept optionally available Chemplex 30, 35, 40 and 45 mm evacuable die sets. The platen is designed with a series of counter-bores that safely retain die sets in position and in perfect center vertical alignment. Spindle with knurled knob adapts to any die height for accommodating different sample volumes. Simple two button operation: “Up” button for briquetting and “Down” button for ram retraction and die removal. Analog gauge indicates force from 0 to 30 tons in 1 ton increments. Compact designed for countertop installation and quiet in operation.

Automatic 30 Ton Force SPECTROPRESS®

Gateway to Access 30 Ton Automatic Integrated Die SpectroPress® System

The Chemplex Automatic Integrated Die SpectroPress is the most innovative, simple to operate and rapid acting design in automatic presses. The uniquely designed die remains in the press. There is no need to remove the die assembly after each briquetting operation. Simply insert powdered sample contained in a Chemplex compressible tapered aluminum PelletCup and insert on the extended ram platform. Depress the “Down” button to allow ram and sample retraction into the integrated die body and insert briquetting die cap. Rotate anvil forward over die cap and depress “Up” button for briquetting to the desired force as indicated on the analog gauge in 1 ton increments up to a maximum of 30 tons. Directional control buttons are momentary switches and will disengage immediately upon removal of applying pressure. Includes die size of choice. Automatic 30 Ton Force Integrated Die SPECTROPRESS®

Gateway to Access Evacuable Stainless Steel Die Sets

Evacuable stainless steel die sets are precision fabricated to close manufacturing tolerances to produce briquetted powdered samples in 13, 32, 35, 40 and 45 mm diameters. Heat treated stainless steel resists normal tendencies of some sample materials to gorging. Side arm enables evacuation. Chemplex dies are manufactured primarily for use in the Standard SpectroPress® model with self-alignment features and with other comparable units of equal quality.

Gateway to Access Compressible Tapered PelletCup® Briquetting Cups

Compressible tapered aluminum PelletCups® and plastic PlastiCups® form firm durable sample pellets protected on all sides with the exception of the sample surface to be analyzed. Simply fill the PelletCup® with the powdered sample material and place in an evacuable die set and briquette in the usual manner. PelletCups are available in sizes diameters to form 32, 35, 40 and 45 mm diameter samples with their respective die sizes.

Gateway to Access SpectroPellet® Protective Die Film and Briquetting Sample Pellet Release

A unique method of preserving the integrity of stainless steel die pellets and to avoid cross contamination is through the use of a protective thin-film applied to the die surface.

Some difficulties associated with briquetting certain types of sample substances are related to a partial to full range of sample adhesion to the pellet die. In either case, the briquetted sample is generally unsuitable for x-ray analysis and the procedure is repeated until a firm durable intact sample briquette is formed. This condition is frustrating and dictates frequent and time consuming clean-ups.

SpectroPellet® Protective Film effectively serves these requirements by forming a barrier surface between the stainless steel pellet and sample. This is attributed to the low coefficient of sample adhesion property of the protective film.

Gateway to Access PelletAid® Sample Pellet Release and Dry Lubricant and Conditioner for Moving Die Components

PelletAid® represents an alternate method of preserving the surface of a sample during the briquetting operation. Most importantly it serves as a die conditioner and dry lubricant to the moving parts of the die set.

The application entails a "dusting" of the die pellet surface with PelletAid to prevent sample adhesion or to ensure die component mobility.
