The SpectroMill® Ball Pestle Impact Grinder/Mixer is engineered to rapidly propel one or more ball pestles together with a sample substance to strike the interior contoured ends of a sealed SpectroVial® container. The mechanics of the system are designed to guide a ball pestle and sample through a “figure-8” path of travel within the grinding/mixing vial prior to impact against the contoured vial and cap ends. The sample is crushed by the ball pestle and "milled" as the ball pestle is guided across the concaved interior ends of the vial to repeat the cycle on the opposite end. The comminution and blending processes are controlled by type of sample substance, quantity, time, hardness of the vial and number of ball pestles.
SpectroMill®-I is engineered with a single SpectroVial® clamping mechanism with the capability of accommodating and processing up to five samples simultaneously to the same pre-programmed time. This is achieved through the use of optionally available Multi SpectroVial® Adapters that contain cavities of appropriate size to accept Chemplex® clear plastic polystyrene, stainless steel and titanium carbide SpectroVial® grinding/mixing vials.
SpectroMill®-TS Touchscreen Ball Pestle Impact Grinder/Mixer includes a touch-screen that offers the convenience and capability of operating and recalling user-assigned programmed methods. This feature unique to the SpectroMill-TS eliminates re-establishing grinding and mixing parameters for different types of samples.
SpectroMill®-II is designed with two SpectroVial® clamping mechanisms that double the processing capability for active laboratories. The use of Multi SpectroVial® Adapters further increases sample preparation capacity. A digital counter precisely counts down the processing time; an audible alert signals completion of the grinding/mixing cycle. The mechanics of the SpectroMill® are mounted on shock-absorbers that minimize unwanted vibration.
Multi Sample Simultaneous Processing SpectroMill® Ball Pestle Impact Grinders are engineered with one or two SpectroVial® clamping mechanisms that will accommodate and process up to five different samples simultaneously to the same pre-programmed time. This is achieved with optionally available Multi SpectroVial® Adaptors that contain cavities of appropriate size to accept Chemplex® clear plastic polystyrene, annealed stainless steel, rust resistant stainless steel and titanium carbide SpectroVial® grinding/mixing vials.
