GYRALGRINDER® SAMPLE COMMINUTION GRINDER
GyralGrinder® powdered sample grinder reduces innumerable types of samples to a uniform particle size, shape and distribution for XRF analysis in just minutes. The grinding process is extremely energetic, fast and thorough.
Uniquely engineered gyral-mechanics impart a controlled imbalanced condition to the grinding dish containing a sample substance. The components of the grinding dish, a puck and ring, energetically strike and crush the sample while continuously encouraging the particles to intermix with each other. The GyralGrinder is ergonomically designed for operator comfort and easy access to the working chamber and controls.
EASY ACCESS TO CONTROLS
All operating controls are located within easy reach on the lid. A single push button switch turns the unit on or off. The programmable solid-state electronic timer has a large LED display for elapsed time and audible alarm for alerting completion of the comminution cycle. A rotary switch controls the intensity of impact.
USER-FRIENDLY OPERATION
The control lid lifts upward and toward the rear. It is supported by two gas compression springs. A safety switch automatically disengages the unit if the lid is inadvertently opened. Two safety latches firmly locks down the control lid during operation.
The comminution dish firmly clamps in position using a single one-hand operated lever that also swings away for full accessibility to the sample chamber. A self-locking mechanism is designed into the lever that prevents the dish from dislodging during operation. Simply pull out on the knob and lift the handle up to disengage locking mechanism allowing the entire arm assembly to swing out of the way toward the rear of the chamber.
The Intensity of Impact Control rotary switch is numbered from 1 through 10, with 10 representing the greatest intensity of impact. This control allows for the comminution of a wide range of sample materials extending from soft to very hard. It provides a means to minimize the introduction of transition element contamination to the sample and wear to the grinding vessels.
COMMINUTION VESSELS FOR GYRALGRINDERS
Hardened steel, tungsten carbide and zirconia comminution vessels are configured specifically to function with the GyralGrinder clamping mechanism. The dishes incorporate an upper ridge for ease of handling and the lids have a central depression for self-alignment and fixation in position.
Clamping mechanism swings backwards and out of the way for full access to comminution dish.
Single level clamping mechanism firmly locks comminution dish in position.
