Palm-Held Fastener Product Line Expanded to Accommodate Chemplex TrimLess™ XRF Sample Cup Sleeves

The Palm-Held Fasteners that have gained a great deal of popularity in assembling Chemplex XRF Sample Cups have been expanded to include TrimLess™ Sleeves. This device is noted for the ease in affixing thin-film sample support windows to sample cups, the uniformity of applied pressure for taut wrinkle-free windows and easy on the thumbs for preparing multiple sample cup preparations.

XRF SAMPLE CUP CAT. NO: 2143 GETS A VENTED CAP WITH A KNOB AND A NEW CATALOG NUMBER 2144

XRF Sample Cup catalog number 2143 is now available with a knob integrated in the vented cap. This new assembly has been assigned catalog number 2144 to distinguish it from the 2143 that has a flat vented cap. All other features for both sample cups are identical. Both sample cup catalog numbers will continue to be offered with the analyst selecting the most appropriate for convenience of handling. Pricing for the 2143 and 2144 are the same.

XRF Sample Transfer Pipettes Simplify Filling Chemplex XRF Sample Cups and for General Laboratory Use

Disposable pipettes are available to transfer petrochemical and many other types of viscous and fluid samples into XRF sample cups and for general laboratory uses. Convenient chart illustrates the most appropriate pipette to use with any Chemplex XRF Sample Cup.

Ensure dispensing equal sample volumes in each XRF Sample Cup for x-ray analysis; prevent accidental spillage and cross contamination possibilities. Chemplex transfer pipettes are affordably priced for single time use.

Fabricated from polyethylene, the unbreakable transfer pipettes integrate the bulb with the stem for convenience of manipulation and easy dispensing. Select fine, medium or large tips for controlling dispensing samples of varying viscosities.

NEW XRF SAMPLE CUP ALTERNATIVE TO CATALOG NUMBER 1095

An alternative to XRF Sample Cup, Catalog number 1095, is now available for Rigaku and Panalytical Venus 200 instruments. This sample cup is assigned Catalog Number 2195 in the 2000 Series that is noted for its unique design that integrates an Internal Overflow Reservoir. The 2195 sample cup consists of three components: a sleeve for the easy attachment of a thin-film sample support window substance that becomes completely enveloped, an integrated Internal Overflow Reservoir within the cell, a vented snap-on cap for pressure equalization with an integrated knob for convenience.

Mortar and Pestle Sets have been expanded to now include a smaller size that will accommodate a sample volumetric capacity of 13 cm3. Ideally, suitable for reducing agglomerated samples into smaller constituents for acceptance in GyralGrinder and particularly SpectroMill grinding vessels. Simple and easy to use; rocks and agglomerated samples are crushed with each downward thrust of the pestle. Fabricated from hardened steel.

NEW SAMPLE CUP FOR THERMO ADVANT'X INSTRUMENTS

Cat. No. 2146 illustrated in Thermo Advant'X Sample Holder

A new XRF Sample Cup, Cat. No. 2146, is now available for the Thermo Advant’X XRF Analyzers. The sample cup consists of three parts: a main cell that integrates an internal overflow reservoir, a sleeve for affixing taut thin-film sample support planes and a vented snap-on cap the features a knob that self-centers the sample cup within the sample holder together with the sample holder cover lid.

NEW THIN-FILM SAMPLE SUPPORT WINDOW GAUGES

Chemplex thin-film sample support windows have been extended to include thinner gauges for increased lower levels of detectability especially for the long wavelength, or lower KeV energy, analyte lines.

New Etnom™ Thin-Film Gauges

Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon diesel and gasoline fuel-resistant Etnom™ is available in three new gauges: 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5µ; 0.00006”, 0.00008” and 0.00010”, respectively. The 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0µ gauges of Etnom™ are offered in static cling resistant SpectroMembrane carrier frames while the ultra-thin 1.5µ gauge is supplied in Continuous Rolls owing to its thinness.

New Prolene Thin-Film Gauge

The new Prolene® in 3.0µ gauge tops the transmittance curves with the least amount of x-ray spectral line absorption of all thin-film sample support materials. 3.0µ Prolene® is supplied in SpectroMembrane Carrier Frames to avoid annoying static cling and contamination and to facilitate handling.

SPECTROPELLET® PROTECTIVE FILM

SpectroPellet® Protective Film provides the analyst with a means to protect the surfaces of stainless steel and optionally available tungsten carbide pellets provided with evacuable die sets from powdered sample material particles having tendencies to adhere. Simply place a SpectroPellet Protective Film circle on the surface of a metal die using a small drop of ethanol or isobutanol as a temporary adhesive and briquette the sample in the usual manner. After removing the sample briquette, remove the SpectroPellet® Protective Film and replace in preparation for a new briquetting operation.

EXPANDED PETROCHEMICAL OIL SPECTROSTANDARD® PRODUCT LINE

Expanded SpectroCertified® petrochemical standards now include complete sets in addition to individual units. SpectroStandard© Sulfur in mineral oil, diesel and synthetic fuel matrices and metals; multi-element wear metals; diluted and concentrated single element organo-metallic standards in oil and lubricating oil additive matrices; residual oil standards; chlorine in waste oils; low sulfur formulations. NIST, ASTM, EPA and CAN/GS conforming where applicable.

POLYETHYLENE AND POLYVINYL CHLORIDE SPECTROSTANDARD© POLYMERS

Powdered and 32 mm or 40 mm diameter solid disc PE and PVC polymers are available for RoHS/WHEE compliance analysis. Polyethylene (PE) standards contain: Br, Cd, Cr, Hg and Pb. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) standards contain: Br, Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Ca and Cl. Includes Quality Control Standards. The discs are integrated with Chemplex XRF Sample Cups, Cat. No: 1330 (32 mm) and 1340 (40 mm).

Chemplex has adopted the illustrated symbol to indicate compliance of its XRF Sample Cups and Thin-Film Window products in accordance with the European Council Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS), Restriction of Hazardous Substances.

SpectroMicro™ SAMPLE CUPS AVAILABLE IN ASSORTED APERTURE SIZES

Choose the right size volume sample cup to sample quantity. Accommodate limited or rare sample amounts. Maximize sample density exposure area. Eliminate “masking” techniques. "Flush-fitting" thin-film window planes maintain sample-to-target and sample-to-detector distances. Integrated filling funnel guides and centralizes sample on thin-film window. Available with 6, 10, 15 and 20 mm apertures. Usable with all 32 mm diameter sample holders.

Expanded Automatic 30 Ton SpectroPress© Product Line

The Automatic SpectroPress product line has been expanded to include a model that self-centers and self-aligns 32, 35, 40 and 45 mm diameter evacuable stainless steel dies. A spindle with a knurled knob enables acceptance of variable die heights and permits easy ejection of the formed XRF sample pellet.

Both models, Cat. No. 4325 and 4335, boast simplicity and rapidity of use through two momentary push button controls. The “Up” button drives the ram upward for briquette formation and the “Down” button decompresses for briquette ejection procedures. An analog gauge indicates both tons and PSI in one ton and 50 PSI increments, respectively. Small, compact size for counter operation and sturdily built for repeated daily use. All models include an interior lighted sample chamber for better visibility.

XRF SAMPLE CUPS HAVE INTEGRATED THIN-FILM TRIMMERS

The troublesome procedure of trimming away extraneous thin-film is completely averted by using sample cups integrated with a Serrated Edge Thin-Film Trimming feature. Annoying thin-film clippings that tend to statically cling to everything are no longer an issue by using “Snap-On Ring” Thin-Film Assembly XRF Sample Cups. Simply tear away the thin-film from the assembled sample cup; trimming is close up to the cell.

Also, for users of Microporous Film with the 1500 Series XRF Sample Cups the NEW Integrated Thin-Film Trimmer will prove to be invaluable in trimming away the excess material.

XRF SAMPLE CUPS HAVE INTERNAL OVERFLOW RESERVOIRS

Conventional XRF Sample Cups equipped with overflow reservoirs are generally on the exterior tops. This may tend to inadvertently overflow into the sample chamber during analysis of thermally sensitive sample solutions or through handling. Now, the NEW 2100 Series XRF Sample Cups have internal Overflow Reservoirs. Any extraneous sample solutions collect within the sample cup completely eliminating spillages and clean up of the sample chamber. The Internal Overflow Reservoir also serves as a fill limit in introducing the sample into the sample cup.

NEW XRF SAMPLE CUPS FOR BRUKER AUTOMATIC S2 INSTRUMENTS

The 2100 Series XRF Sample Cups have been expanded for use with Bruker automatic S2 instruments with XFLASH© detectors. The new sample cup is assigned Cat. No. 2143. It incorporates all of the features of the 2140 designed for Bruker manual S2 and S4 instruments; integrated internal overflow reservoir, a snap-on cap and a thin-film window attachment sleeve.

NEW ETNOM™ THIN-FILM IS WIDELY ACCEPTED

The recent introduction of Etnom™, a NEW Thin-Film Sample Support Material, has been widely acclaimed and accepted as choice for analyzing aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, particularly diesel fuel and gasoline. The substance is noteworthy for its chemical and softening resistance and increase in intensities especially for the long wavelength (lower KeV energy) spectral lines. Etnom is available in SpectroMembrane© Sample Support Carrier Frames for convenience in handling, avoidance of troublesome static electrical charges and cross contamination issues.
